About
Elephas is a private sector company that recognises the complexity of situations parents and carers find themselves in when relationships break down. This is not limited to, but includes the reality of the inherent challenges of being a parent becoming even more complex upon separation. With an understanding of the over subscription and limitations of not only the private law provision but also associated public services Elephas looks to bridge this void.

History
Elephas was founded by James who has worked with children and their families for the last 20 years. James gained a BA Social Work in 2008 and has since worked in statutory children’s service teams and for the last 10 years has been part of the management teams in Front Door Services. During James’ time within front door services he had contact with a number of parents who have found themselves in the difficult situation of separation/divorce and have not found the answers they require from the family/private law provision nor other services publicly available. With this apparent gap in services coupled with James’ continued commitment to providing child centred provisions the initial concept of Elephas was born.
Our Vision
Elephants are well-known for their intelligence, close family ties and social complexity. Three factors that are core to the vision and ethos of this service. For this reason, the name Elephas was chosen. Elephas seeks to provide a service that supports parents to continue to provide consistent, effecting and nurturing care to their child(ren) regardless of the status of the parental relationship. To succeed a sensitive and complex provision with recognition for the significant variables within a family is required. Elephas truly values the ‘family unit’ and recognises it as the most powerful and effective tool in successfully addressing a family’s needs. Unfortunately, it is not always clear that society values the family unit and at times appears overlooked in it’s ability to solve most if not all issues a family face. Whilst understanding and recognising the significant impact that a parental separation has on a child. Elephas believes that with the correct support and management from parents this experience, whilst significantly distressing, does not need to have a lasting detrimental impact upon any child. Elephas prides itself on providing objective, concise and pragmatic solutions for families in such situations.
Elephas does provide pro bono services to families however, availability is limited.
